Bhutan Cultural Tour – 7 Days

Day 1:
Arrive at Paro International Airport and receive a traditional welcome before driving to Thimphu. Along the way, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang and enjoy the scenic journey through the Paro and Thimphu valleys. In the evening, take a leisurely walk around Thimphu town and, if time permits, visit Tashichho Dzong. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2:
Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural attractions, starting with the impressive Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley. Visit the Memorial Chorten, the Folk Heritage Museum, and the Institute for Zorig Chusum to learn about Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts. Continue to the National Textile Museum and explore the local market for a glimpse of everyday Bhutanese life. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3:
Travel from Thimphu to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass, known for its 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. On arrival in Punakha, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the revered fertility temple, followed by a tour of the beautiful Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of two rivers. End the day with a walk across the Punakha suspension bridge. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 4:
Begin the day with a visit to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, offering peaceful surroundings and valley views. Later, drive back to Paro and stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples. Enjoy a relaxed evening in Paro. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 5:
Explore Paro’s key cultural sites, including Rinpung Dzong and the traditional Nyamai Zampa wooden bridge. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan to learn about the country’s history and heritage, and experience local culture through a visit to a traditional farmhouse. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6:
Embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched dramatically on a cliffside. The hike takes several hours and rewards you with breathtaking views and spiritual ambience. After returning, relax in the evening, with an optional hot stone bath. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 7:
Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure, concluding the journey with unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s culture, spirituality, and natural beauty.
