Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to the altitude. Optionally explore Paro town, visit Paro Dzong, and stroll through local markets. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 2: Acclimatization and Short Hike in Paro
Take a gentle hike or cultural walk to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. Enjoy the scenic valley views and prepare for the high-altitude trek. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 3: Thimphu Drive and Trek Start – First Camp
Drive from Paro to the trek starting point near Thimphu Valley. Meet the trekking guides and start a short hike to the first campsite (~3,200–3,500 meters) to get accustomed to the altitude. Overnight in tents or a mountain lodge.

Day 4: Trek to High Lakes
Trek through lush pine forests and open alpine meadows, passing glacial lakes and streams. Reach a high-altitude campsite (~3,800–4,000 meters), surrounded by lakes and breathtaking views. Optional side hikes to nearby viewpoints. Overnight camping.

Day 5: Trek Across High Passes and Lakes
Continue trekking across rolling hills, ridges, and high passes, with panoramic Himalayan vistas and turquoise alpine lakes. Camp near one of the highest lakes and enjoy the serene sunset over the alpine landscape. Overnight camping.

Day 6: Final Trek Descent to Thimphu
Descend through meadows and forests back toward Thimphu. Enjoy the scenery and interact with local shepherd communities along the route. Transfer to your hotel in Thimphu for rest. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 7: Thimphu to Paro – Tiger’s Nest Hike
Drive from Thimphu to Paro in the morning. Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched dramatically on a cliffside. The round-trip hike takes 4–6 hours with breathtaking views and spiritual ambiance. Return to Paro for overnight stay.

Day 8: Departure from Paro
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure, concluding your trek with unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s high-altitude lakes, Himalayan vistas, and cultural landmarks.
